Kawahisa
Kaiseki /Kyoto WashokuThe interior of Kawakyu, designed by the famed spacial designer Nobuo Shirasuna, is one that remains true to the Kappo design of being centered around its counter. Kawakyu’s founder was born to a household that operated a Kyoto cuisine restaurant, and after years of training at prestigious hotel in a Kyoto, mastered the art of fusing the Japanese and western culinary styles and meeting the needs of all those he served. His most popular dishes include the fabulously crisp fried chicken wingtips and roast beef, as well as the fresh fish procured directly from Awaji, and his Omakase (Chef’s choice) courses start from 7,560 yen. All requests and needs of the guests are given careful attention in true Kappo style. The Daimonji festival can be viewed from its Yuka seating.
