Kaiseki /Kyoto WashokuThe restaurant is named after the famous sanbongi geisha Ikumatsu (Kido Matsuko), the lover of the veteran statesman Katsura Kogoro (Kido Takayoshi), who would later become his wife. The “Ikumatsu Room” which is over 200 years old, is a registered tangible cultural property. Riverside seating next to Kamo river is available where you can enjoy Kyoto Kaiseki Courses starting at 14,400 yen (service charge included). Everyday Kyoto vegetables, pike conger, and carefully selected ingredients are handpicked for the Kyoto kaiseki course menu which changes daily. Be sure to make reservations in advance, at least 1 day before. The lunch bento is available for 5,658 yen (service charge included). Take a trip back in time while you enjoy a cup of sake and take in the traditional ambiance near Kamogawa river and the history of the Bakumatsu.
